Following a brief hiatus we are returning to Rhythm Factory to start 2012 on the right foot. We have some big plans for the coming year so hopefully this will only be the start. As ever taking the lineup down a different musical path, we have brought together a collection of our favourite producers and DJs who we believe you will be hearing a lot more from next year.
This night will also act as the launch for the brand new website that we are currently working on!

We are really happy to have Randomer headlining this event. Having released on a slew of revered labels such as Soul Jazz, Super, Tru Thoughts, Hessle Audio and Numbers, Randomer never fails to bring something unique to the table. Without ever retreading any worn sonic territory, every production is imbued with his distinctive and idiosyncratic musical viewpoint. Sparse but full of impact, aggressive but with a tongue-in-cheek drive, recent tracks like ‘Brunk’ and ‘Obtuse’ have been on constant rotation recently at Liminal Sounds HQ. His set promises to be really special.
Blackwax may have just released their debut EP (the outstanding ‘Offkey’ EP on Tube10), but do not let that fool you, this production duo have honed their sound to perfection. Informed by the UK’s rich heritage in underground electronic music, as well as some more immediate influences from further afield, their dark, rugged productions are aglow with the embers of thirty years of musical history. From the rhythmic intricacies of jungle, through the sonic power of grime right up until the straight dance floor vibes of UK Funky in its proliferating forms, Blackwax embody the experimentalism and pure power that these genres have pioneered. Their recent Liminal Sounds mix will give you an insight into exactly what they are about.

Pedestrian‘s recent release on Push & Run was one of the outstanding singles of this year for us. Bringing a melodic delicacy and emotional poignancy to the constructs of dance floor music, he makes tracks that journey beyond the confines of the dance floor. Letting organic layers of texture and atmospheres pull against the electronics, Pedestrian crafts a sound that is as nuanced as it is arresting. With more new music in the works, expect to be hearing a lot more from him in 2012.

Palace may be a new name to some, but you can most definitely expect to be hearing more from him soon. He has just dropped the ‘Mandy/Armageddon’ single on Unknown to the Unknown which has already been getting support from the likes of Fantastic Mr. Fox, Hudson Mohawke and Mumdance. Amalgamating the glacial sonics of classic eski productions with a dark 2-step shuffle and the bump of bassline’s darkest recesses we haven’t been excited by a producer this much in a long time!
Our friends over at Get Some will also be joining the lineup bringing the same fresh and forward-thinking approach that powers their blog, label and events. Expect straight vibes dropping everything from classic 2-step to house to grime to dubstep.
Resident Elsewhere will be rounding off the lineup.
