Having concluded their initial run of split artist releases with the impressive Dada Spines compilation at the end of last year, the Helsinki-based Signal Life label are kicking off 2014 with their first solo release. Out on Monday 27th January, the four-track ‘Thousand Million’ EP see label co-owner Twwth (formerly Teeth) take the helm with a selection of oddball but undeniable effective club tracks.

The EP is both an apt representation of the forward-facing sonic values of the label and a forceful step forward from Twwth himself. Constructing his tracks out of a patchwork of broken drum machine rhythms, 8-bar grime structures and syrupy RnB vocals, Twwth delivers an EP that has energy, intrigue and invention in abundance without ever forsaking its dance floor functionality.
